GPRS
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a network service that allows mobile phones to be used for sending and receiving data over an Internet Protocol (IP)-based network. GPRS is a data bearer that enables wireless access to data networks such as the Internet. Find out more about Mobile Browsing.

Get settings over the air
You may receive the mobile browsing settings as an over the air message from the network operator or service provider or from the Nokia web site. See Over the Air Settings.

Activate settings
To activate the settings, do the following:
  1. Press Menu and select Services, Settings, Connection settings and Active service settings.
  2. Scroll to the set you would like to activate and press Activate.
Adjust appearance and security settings for browsing
Press Menu and select Services and Settings.
  • Select Appearance settings to adjust e.g. display fonts and images.
  • Select Security settings to adjust e.g. settings for certificates and cookies.
For more information and for the appropriate settings, contact the network operator or service provider.
(E)GPRS
(E)GPRS (Enhanced GPRS), also known as EDGE, is similar to GPRS. EDGE increases GPRS data rates. Contact your network operator or service provider to check availability and to subscribe to the (E)GPRS service, and also for information on data transfer speeds and pricing.

When you have selected GPRS as a data bearer, the phone uses (E)GPRS instead of GPRS if this is available in the network.
