Play music or podcast



Learn how to play digital music with the music player in your device. Your music player supports file formats such as AAC, AAC+, eAAC+. MP3 and WMA.


You can also use Music player to listen to podcasts. Podcasting is a method for delivering audio or video content over the internet using either RSS or Atom technologies for playback on mobile devices and computers.


Play music or podcast

  1. Open the music player by selecting the Media key and the Music icon .
  2. The music library shows the available music. To view all songs, sorted music, playlists, or podcasts in the music library menu, select the desired option.
  3. To play a file, tap it twice.
  4. To return to standby mode and leave the player playing in the background, select Back, or to switch to another open application, press and hold the menu key.

To pause playback, tap ; to resume, tap .

To fast-forward or rewind, tap and hold or .

To go to the next item, tap . To return to the beginning of the item, tap . To skip to the previous item, tap again within 2 seconds after a song or podcast has started.

To turn random play ( ) on or off, select Options > Shuffle play.

To repeat the current item (), all items ( ), or to turn repeat off, select
Options > Repeat.

If you play podcasts, shuffle and repeat are automatically turned off.

To adjust the volume, press the volume key.

To modify the tone of the music playback, select Options > Equaliser.

To modify the balance and stereo image or to enhance the bass, select Options > Settings.

To return to the home screen and leave the player playing in the background, press the end key.

To close the player, select Options > Exit.

Note!
You may have to refresh the music and podcast libraries after you have updated the song or podcast selection in your device. To add all available items to the library, select Options > Refresh library.

Manage your music with playlists

If you want to make your own music compilation, it is easy to arrange your music into a playlist. To view and manage playlists, go to the Music library and select Playlists.

Create a playlist

  1. Select > and Playlists.
  2. Select Options > New playlist.
  3. Enter a name for the playlist, and select OK.
  4. To add songs now, select Yes; or to add the songs later, select No.
  5. If you select Yes, select artists to find the songs you want to add to the playlist
  6. Select Add to add items
  7. To show the song list under an artist title, select Expand. To hide the song list, select Collapse.
  8. When you have made your selections, select Done.

The playlist is saved to the mass memory of your device.

To view details of the playlist, select Options > Playlist details.

Add songs to a playlist

    • Select > and Playlists.
    • Select the playlist you want to add songs to.
    • Select Options > Add songs.
    • Choose the song you want to add, and select Add.
      • You can add as many songs you want.
      • To show the song list under an artist’s name, double tap the artist’s name.
      • When you are finished adding songs, select Done.


Remove songs from a playlist

  1. Select > and Playlists.
  2. Select the desired playlist.
  3. Scroll to the song you want to delete, and select Options > Remove.
  4. Confirm your selection by selecting Yes.

Note that removing a song from the playlist does not delete the song from the device.

Organise a playlist

You can also rearrange songs in a playlist:

  1. When viewing the playlist, select Options > Reorder playlist.
  2. To change the position of a song, select the song and Grab.
  3. Scroll to the desired position and select Drop.
  4. To finish rearranging the playlist, select Done.
