Synchronise calendar items, tasks and notes

Keep to-do items, appointments and notes up-to-date on your computer and your phone.

With Nokia Ovi Suite you can synchronise calendar items, to-do lists and notes between your phone and desktop software such as Microsoft Outlook.

Set up automatic syncing

In Nokia Ovi Suite, select Tools > Options > Calendar and tasks or Tools > Options > Notes.

Nokia Ovi Suite shows the available applications installed on your computer. Choose which of these you’d like to synchronise with your phone.

For calendar items and tasks, you can also limit synchronisation to a particular date range – for example, if you don’t need to sync meetings that happened more than a week ago, choose From 1 week in the past.

Additionally, for software that supports folders, you can also limit the sync based on user profile and folders.

Sync conflict resolution

If you update information on your phone and on your computer, you may sometimes find that you have 2 different versions of the same item.

Therefore, before syncing, under Sync conflict resolution select which version to keep in Nokia Ovi Suite if it finds several versions of an item. For example, if you know that your latest calendar information is always kept in Microsoft Outlook on your computer, select Microsoft Outlook.

Manual synchronisation

You can synchronise calendar items, tasks or notes at any time from the Sync menu in Nokia Ovi Suite.
