Synchronise your contacts

Synchronise your contacts between your computer and Nokia phone, and you’ll have them safe and accessible, wherever you are.

Moving your contacts between your computer and phone is easy:

  • Connect your computer and phone using a USB cable or Bluetooth. (See Connect your phone to your computer)
  • Open Nokia Ovi Suite and choose Sync in the Contacts area of the Home view or select Sync all.
  • You can choose if you want your contacts to be synced automatically every time you connect your phone and open Nokia Ovi Suite.
  • To access your contacts, click on the Contacts icon or the main Contacts box.

Sync conflict resolution

When you sync your contacts, there is a possibility that some conflicts occur between the information that is in your phone, Nokia Ovi Suite, your Nokia account, and your data management software (such as Microsoft Outlook). This could happen, for example, when you have modified a contact's mobile number in your phone and Nokia Ovi Suite.

To resolve contacts' sync conflicts:

  1. Click Sync conflicts in the navigation area and select a contact for which you want to resolve a conflict. The contact details are shown in the content area.
  2. Select the correct alternative for the conflicted detail or details, and click Save. Alternatively, you can ignore the conflict by selecting another contact or contact group, and resolve the conflict later.
  3. After you have resolved all the conflicts you need to, sync once more to apply the changes everywhere.
