Send and receive text messages from your computer with Nokia Ovi Suite.

Want to send and receive text messages from your computer? With Nokia Ovi Suite you can.

Send text messages

Before you start, make sure your phone is connected to the computer via USB cable or Bluetooth. See Connect phone phone to your computer for information on how to connect your phone.

In Nokia Ovi Suite’s Messaging view, click Create message in the centre panel. Type the name or phone number you want to send the message to. To send a message to several people, select Add recipient after each name or number.

When you have added all the names or numbers you want, click Close.

Type your message into the box and click Send. The message will be delivered as if you’d sent it from your phone, and will appear in your Sent items folder on your phone and in Nokia Ovi Suite.

Receiving text messages

When you synchronise messages between your phone and your computer, new messages appear in Nokia Ovi Suite. The Messaging area of the Home view will show you how many unread messages you have:

You can reply to messages in the conversation pane to carry on the discussion – just like an instant messaging service – using your phone and Nokia Ovi Suite.
