Synchronise playlists

When you synchronise your music, Nokia Ovi Suite copies music collections from your computer to your phone. You can choose to sync your entire collection or just selected playlists. You can sync music manually or automatically every time you connect your phone.

First, connect your phone. If you’re going to copy lots of tracks it’s faster to use a USB cable connection rather than Bluetooth. See Connect your phone to your computer for more information.

Manual synchronisation

There are three ways you can manually update music from your computer to your phone using Nokia Ovi Suite.

  • In the Home view, click Sync in the Music area
  • In the Music view, click Sync music in the Device area
  • Select Sync > Sync music from the menu

Just remember that clicking Sync all in Home will only sync your music if you have chosen to synchronise Music in Tools > Options > Device sync.

Automatic synchronisation

Nokia Ovi Suite can update your music automatically every time you connect your phone to your computer.

  1. Select Tools > Options
  2. Click on Device sync. In the Music section, check the box marked Sync automatically every time you connect the phone
  3. If you leave this box unticked you can still manually sync your music

Synchronising your playlists

When you sync music on your computer, all your music is synchronised to your phone. If you only want selected playlists synchronised, modify your options:

  1. Select Tools > Options in the home view menu
  2. Open the Music tab
  3. You can choose to sync all your music, or just selected playlists. Tick the boxes of the playlists you want automatically synchronised
