Home main areas

Home is divided into four main areas: Contacts, Messaging, Music and Photos. These four areas offer you a snapshot of the most recent content in your phone and Nokia Ovi Suite, and let you delve deeper into the content. To do this, click, for example, the Contacts area in Home and you can view and search for contacts, group contacts, edit contact details and synchronise contacts between your computer and phone. To return to Home from other views, click Home in the Nokia Ovi Suite top navigation bar.

Overview of Home main areas

  • Contacts: Keep your contact information up to date between your phone and computer. If you ever lose your phone, all your contact information will be safe in Nokia Ovi Suite.
  • Messaging: View your conversations and keep them up to date. Replying is easy as you can type messages with your computer’s keyboard. Sort your messages by date or sender, or filter messages by key words. The smart groups allow you to group your messages by, for example, sender, date and message status.
  • Music: Copy tracks and playlists between Nokia Ovi Suite and your phone just by dragging and dropping or sync your music.
  • Photos: View, store and organise your photos and videos into albums, and free your phone’s memory for more files. You can also share your photos using Ovi Share. Just drag and drop a selected photo, or multiple photos to the Ovi Share icon, and follow the Ovi Share instructions.

Photo, video and music collection always up to date

You can add photos, videos and music to your photo library and music collection in Nokia Ovi Suite by using the watch folders feature of Nokia Ovi Suite. You select which folders to watch and Nokia Ovi Suite scans the watch folders regularly for new photos, videos and music tracks and automatically adds them to your photo library and music collection. This gives you easy access to all your files in Nokia Ovi Suite.

To add watch folders, do the following:

  • In the Home view, select File > Add watch folders.
  • Select the folders on your computer containing your photos, videos and music tracks. If necessary, deselect the folders with the photos, videos and music tracks you do not want to add to Nokia Ovi Suite. Click Add folder to add a folder that is not listed.
  • Click OK.

Nokia Ovi Suite then adds photos, videos and music from the folders you selected to your photo library and music collection.

You can also view and modify the watch folders in Nokia Ovi Suite options. To do so, click Tools > Options and go to the Photos or Music tab.
