Download new maps

Downloading maps to your phone is easy with Nokia Ovi Suite:

  • Connect your phone to your computer. Because you may be copying large amounts of data it’s faster to use a USB cable connection rather than Bluetooth. See Connect your phone to your computer for more information.
  • Start the Maps application on the device before using Nokia Ovi Suite for first time or when map application is updated and close it before using Nokia Ovi Suite.
  • To see a list of maps for different countries, start Nokia Ovi Suite and select View > Go to > Maps
  • Refine your search by clicking on the continent you’re looking for on the left-hand side of the screen.
  • Choose your map and click Download or drag the map onto the phone’s image at the bottom of the screen

When you download a country map for the first time, information about cities in the continent it belongs to is also downloaded, which may take a while. This only happens the first time you download a map.

Download voice guidance

You can get turn-by-turn directions to your destination in close to 50 languages by downloading voice guidance instructions using Nokia Ovi Suite. From the Ovi Maps support pages you can check which phone models support free navigation. If your phone supports it, you do not need to obtain the licences separately.

From the pages you can also search for details on how to obtain and renew your licences, or how to update your licence types.

To see a list of languages in Nokia Ovi Suite, click Voice guidance languages on the left-hand side of the screen. Then choose your language and click Download or drag the voice guidance to the image of your phone.
