You can unplug the charger when the battery indicator shows that the battery is full. For the first and consecutive charges, charging the battery can take up to 2 hours. It is not recommended to keep the charger connected longer. The first charge is not different from the other charges.
Note: When charging through a USB port, the charging might take longer than 2 hours.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) settings are needed for certain network services using SIP, e.g. for VoIP or video sharing. You may receive the settings in a special text message from your service provider. You can view, delete, or create these setting profiles in SIP settings menu.
A sample SIP profile is shown below:
The settings must match with the settings provided by the SIP service provider. Contact the service provider for the correct parameter values.
No. The amount of consecutive incorrect lock codes is not limited and you cannot lock your Nokia device permanently by entering wrong lock codes. However, if you enter the wrong lock code for 5 consecutive times, the device is locked for 5 minutes during which time it doesn't accept any codes, not even the correct one.
Note that some applications may add security measures of their own if an incorrect lock code is given too many times. For example with Mail for Exchange the administrator can define that all the data in the device is deleted when a maximum number of lock code retries is reached. The device may show in this situation the following warning message:
Incorrect lock code. One attempt left before data is deleted.
If a wrong lock code is still given after the above warning, the device is reset and all the user data is wiped out.
Select Menu > Messaging > Options > SIM messages.
Text messages may be stored on your SIM card. Before you can view SIM messages, you must copy the messages to a folder in the device. After copying the messages to a folder, you can view them in the folder or delete them from the SIM card.
1. Select Options > Mark/Unmark > Mark or Mark all to mark every message.
2. Select Options > Copy.
3. Select a folder and OK to begin copying.
To view SIM card messages, open the folder where you copied the messages, and open a message.
To delete a message from the SIM card, select the message, and press the clear (or backspace) key.
In some of the mobile devices the certificate import may fail if trying to do it by opening the certificate file with the File Manager application. The certificate import fails even though the file contains a valid certificate. The following error message is displayed:
"Unable to open file"
The workaround is to place the certificate file in a web server and open it with the device web browser. Depending on the web server settings, the certificate file extension may have to be modified, e.g. with Microsoft IIS server the extension may need to be set to *.crt instead of *.cer.
A maximum of six participants, including yourself, can have a conference call at the same time.
Note: Some network operators might limit the maximum number of participants in a conference call to a smaller number. The exact number of people that you can join into the call depends on the model of the phone.
