Record your own ringing tone

Personalize your Nokia 5500 Sport phone by recording your own ringing tones. You can easily record new ringing tones, like something your friends might have said aloud to you, with the built-in recorder.

Personalize the main menu

Personalize the main menu and get quick access to the phone functions you always use. You can move more rarely used applications into folders and place the applications you use more often into the main menu. To rearrange the main menu, select Options > Move, New folder, or Move to folder.

Standby mode shortcuts

To change standby mode, scroll key shortcuts, go to Tools and select Settings > Phone > Standby mode > Navigation key right, Navigation key left, Navigat. key down, Navigation key up, or Selection key. The scroll key shortcuts are not available if Active standby is On.

Active standby mode shortcuts

To select the application shortcuts you want to appear in the active standby, go to Tools > Settings > Phone > Standby mode > Active standby apps.

Personalize the sound of your phone

You can use Profiles to adjust and personalize the phone tones for different events, environments, or caller groups. To customize the profile of your choice, select Options > Personalise.

Downloading ringing tones

You can download your favorite ringing tones from the web. If you download a sound, it will appear in Gallery, Tones folder.

Tone downloads

When you choose a tone, Tone downloads opens a list of bookmarks. You can select a bookmark and start connection to a Web page to download tones.

Downloading

You can download items such as ringing tones, images, operator logos and video clips through the mobile browser. These items can be provided free of charge or for a price. Once downloaded, items are handled by the respective applications on your phone, for example a downloaded photo will be saved in Images.

Catalogs

Use your phone to download software like you already do on your computer. With Catalogs, you can access downloads of tools, videos, ringing tones and games. You can also preview applications with trials and product descriptions, including estimated download times.
