Messaging
Listen to a text message

Your Nokia 5500 Sport phone features text to speech technology, which enables you to listen to your text messages. To listen to a text message, select and hold Show. If the requested language is not in your phone, go to the Nokia website to download the language if available.

Voice management

To set the voice for speech, press the menu key, select Tools > Speech and scroll right. Voice is language-dependent. The first voice in the list is used as a default.

Send audio messages

Use Nokia Xpress audio messaging to send a message without typing. Record your own voice clips and send them as multimedia messages. The multimedia messaging service must be activated before you can use audio messaging.

Find out if your message was delivered

If you want to know whether your message was delivered to the recipient, activate the Receive report feature. When creating an audio message, select Options > Sending options and set Receive report to Yes. You will now receive a note when the message is delivered.

Polite call rejection

When you are unable to answer a call, send a text message to the caller telling them why. To send the message, select Options > Send text message.
