To prevent damage to the SIM card, always switch off your device and remove the battery before you insert or remove the card. To insert the SIM card, you must do the following:

1. Remove the back cover by lifting it from the bottom end of the device.
2. If the battery is inserted, remove it.
3. Pull out the SIM card holder, and insert the SIM card. Ensure that the gold-coloured contact area on the card is facing down and that the bevelled corner on the card is facing the bevelled corner on the holder.
4. Push the SIM card holder back in.
5. Add the battery.
6. To replace the back cover, direct the top locking catches toward their slots, and press down until the cover locks into place.

If the SIM card is not properly in place, the device can only be used in the offline profile. Use your stylus pen to help you to remove the SIM card.

Note that it is recommended to use only compatible microSD cards approved by Nokia for use with this device.

A memory card may be already inserted in the device. If not, do the following:

1. Remove the back cover by lifting it from the bottom end of the device.
2. Insert a compatible memory card in the slot. Ensure that the contact area on the card is facing down and towards the slot.
3. Push the card in. You can hear a click when the card locks into place.
4. To replace the back cover, direct the top locking catches toward their slots, and press down until the cover locks into place. Ensure that the cover is properly closed.
