With Maemo you get automatic over-the-internet updates sent directly to your device. This way you'll always have the latest software and applications as soon as they're available.
When new updates are available, is displayed in the status area. It's recommended that you install software updates as they may contain important bug fixes and other updates, which can boost the performance of your device.
To install new software updates, first tap the status area > New software updates > Continue. Then select Update all, or choose the packages you want to install and select Update.
To check the version number of the firmware on your device, select > Settings, Scroll down and select About product.
