Transfer your contacts from your compatible Nokia device to your Nokia N900 by following these easy steps. First tap
and select Contacts. Then open the menu and select Import > Synchronise from other device > Next.

Now choose whether you want to transfer your contacts from another Bluetooth device, or you can enable synchronisation to keep your contacts up to date on both devices. Make your selection and tap Next.
The next step is to select Choose device and then the desired device from the list. Enter the identification number of the device you want to transfer data with, and select Pair.
To synchronise your Nokia N900 with a non-Nokia device, either copy your contacts from the SIM card or simply import the contact file.
After transferring contacts from an instant messaging service or another device to your Nokia N900, you can merge them to avoid having duplicate contacts in your list.
First choose a contact and then tap the menu on the contact card. Now select merge contact and choose the contact you would like to merge with. By bringing together all the different phone numbers and IM user names for a particular friend, this makes it much easier to get in touch with them at a later point.
A quick way to find a friend from your contact list is to simply slide open the QWERTY keyboard and start typing the name of your friend. Check their availability and status and then choose your preferred way to get in touch.
For an even quicker way to connect to your friends, add one or more contact shortcuts directly to your desktops. To add a shortcut, tap
> Contacts > select a contact > tap the menu > Create shortcut.
After you add a shortcut to your desktop, you can see the availability and status of your friend at any time. Then all you need to do is tap the shortcut to make a voice call.
