Start browsing the web


Start browsing the web and get familiar with the browser toolbar to manage your web browsing easily. Also learn the keyboard shortcuts to make your browsing efficient. To keep confidential information safe, learn how to clear your browser’s privacy data.


Browse the web

  1. Select the Web shortcut from the home screen.
    • You can also access the web by selecting Menu > Web.
  2. Bookmark view opens. Enter the Web address manually by just starting to type the address or choose one of the bookmarks.
  3. Confirm by pressing the Scroll key.

Tip!
You can set your browser to full screen mode. Select Options > Display options > Full screen.

Tip!
You can use Mini Map to help navigating on a large web page. Activate the Mini Map first by selecting Options > Settings > General > Mini map> On.

When you scroll through a large web page, Mini Map opens and shows an overview of the page. To move in Mini Map, scroll left, right, up, or down. When you find the desired location, stop scrolling. Mini Map disappears and leaves you at the selected location.

Browser toolbar

The browser toolbar helps you select frequently used functions of the browser. To open the toolbar, press and hold the scroll key on a blank spot on a web page. To move within the toolbar, scroll left or right. To select a feature, press the scroll key.

The toolbar has the following options:

    • Recently visited pages – View a list of the web addresses you visit frequently.
    • Overview – View an overview of the current web page.
    • Search by keyword – Search on the current web page.
    • Reload – Refresh the web page.
    • Subsribe to web feeds (if available) – View a list of available web feeds on the current web page, and subscribe to a web feed.

Learn the web shortcuts to browse efficiently

With keyboard shortcuts you can quickly manage the following browser functions.

    • 1 – To open the browser toolbar.
    • 2 – To search for keywords on the current web page.
    • 3 – To return to the previous page.
    • 4 – To save the current web page as a bookmark.
    • 5 – To open the shortcut keymap.
    • 6 – To refresh the content of the web page.
    • 7 – To open the settings.
    • 8 – To see an overview of the current web page. Press 8 again to zoom in and view the desired section of the web page.
    • 9 – To enter a web address.
    • 0 – To go to the homepage (if defined in settings).
    • * and –To zoom in or out on the web page.

Keep confidential information safe

If you have accessed confidential information requiring passwords, empty the cache after each use. The cache is a memory location that is used to store data temporarily, and where the information or services you have accessed are stored.

  1. Open the web browser.
  2. Select Options > Clear privacy data, and choose the desired action from the list.
