Use your Nokia N85 as a modem

Get high-speed wireless internet access on your computer by using your device as a modem. First, you’ll need to configure your device:

  1. Find your operator's Access Point Name (APN) and enable the packet data service on your device.
  2. On your device, locate and open the Settings application, normally found in the Tools folder.
  3. In Settings select and open Connection.
  4. Then select and open Packet data.
  5. After that, select and open Access point.
  6. Type in your operator's Access Point Name.
(Tip: you may be able to find the Access Point Name by looking on your device in Connection > Destinations)
  7. Exit Settings.

Now that your device is ready, the best way to connect it to your computer is using Nokia Ovi Suite. After downloading and installing Nokia Ovi Suite, just follow two easy steps to start browsing!

  1. In the main window of Nokia Ovi Suite, click the Connect Nokia device button. This will open the Get Connected Wizard.
  2. Click Next and then choose from three possible connection types: cable, Bluetooth, or infrared. If you connect your Nokia N85 to a PC via a cable, make sure you use Nokia Connectivity Adapter Cable CA-101 (included in the sales package).

(Note: When you’ve finished browsing, click Disconnect to close the internet connection)
