Safety tips
Bluetooth security

To protect your device from unauthorised connection, select Menu > Tools > Bluetooth > My phone's visibility > Hidden. Do not pair with or accept connection requests from an unknown device. This will protect your device from harmful content.

Memory card security

You can protect a memory card with a password to prevent unauthorised access. To set a password, select Menu > Tools > File mgr., open the memory card folder and select Options > Memory card password. The password can be up to 8 characters long and is case-sensitive. The password is stored in your device. You do not need to enter it again while you use the memory card on the same device. If you use the memory card on another device, you will be asked for the password.

Prevent unauthorised use

You can enhance security by locking your device. Select Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Security > Phone and SIM card > Lock code and create a lock code. Be sure to memorise it. To lock the phone manually, briefly press the Power key, select Lock phone and enter the code. To unlock your phone, you wil need to enter the code again.

Set remote lock option

If your phone is lost or stolen, you can remotely lock it (and the memory card) by sending a lock code via SMS.

To enable remote locking and to define the text for the message, select Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Security > Phone and SIM card > Remote phone locking > Enabled. Enter the remote lock message and confirm the message. The message must be at least 5 characters long.

Back up memory card

To back up information from the phone memory to a compatible memory card, select Menu > Tools > File mgr. > Backup. Then select Options > Back up now. The phone notifies you if the memory card does not have enough free space. To restore the backed up information, select Options > Restore and mark the data you want to restore.
