Nokia Booklet 3G support

Social Hub

Get familiar with Social Hub

Social Hub is a program which allows you to get real-time notifications from social networks and exchange SMSs on your desktop.

Install Social Hub:

You can download and install Social Hub to your laptop using Nokia Booklet software updater. Open the software updater. The updater automatically checks for the latest software versions and lists them. Choose Social Hub and click Install. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

Add service providers to Social Hub:

  1. Open Social hub. Open Start menu > All programs > Nokia > Social hub or press Fn + F11.
  2. Select the Tools icon in the bottom row of the window and select the Services tab.
  3. Choose the service you want to add (Twitter, Facebook, Flick, etc.).
  4. A service setup wizard opens; select Click here to get started.
  5. Follow the wizard and the instructions on the screen to complete the task.

After you have added service providers to your Social Hub, the program directs the latest updates from these services straight to your Social Hub main window.

To make a new update yourself, choose New update from the top row of the Social Hub window. Select the service where you want to send the update, write your message and click Send.

Send new text message from Social Hub:

  1. Make sure that you have inserted a SIM card in your Booklet, and create a 3G connection first.
    • You can find more information about how to create a 3G connection from the Get connected article.
  2. Open Social Hub. Open Start menu > All programs > Nokia > Social hub or press Fn + F11.
  3. Select New Text Message.
  4. Write the receiver's mobile number in the top field or select the receiver from the list.
  5. Write your message in the message field and click Send.

SMS text messages are transferred using the cellular radio in the laptop; which is why the SIM card must be inserted in the laptop.

Note!

Your contacts' names are visible in your Social Hub if you have synchronised them from your mobile device to Nokia Suite. If you only have your contacts information stored on your SIM card, they are not visible when sending/receiving text messages.

Note!

Currently Social Hub only supports individual SMS messages. Sending SMS messages to groups or several people at once is not possible.
