Find locations and synchronise with Nokia Maps


To search for locations, press the scroll key and select Explore. Start entering the location name in the search field. The device suggests matching nearby locations. Select the location from the list, or enter the location name in the search field, and select Search.


    1. To find a specific address, select Options > Address search.
    2. Start entering the required information. The fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
    3. Select the address from the list of suggested matches.
    4. Select Options > Search.

Tip!
Start filling the search fields from top to bottom. When you change the city, the address field is cleared.


To find an address saved in the contacts list, select Options > Address search > Options > Select from Contacts.


To search for locations by their coordinates, select Options > Address search > Options > Search by coordinates. To select the coordinate format, scroll up or down.


To search for locations in specific categories, such as restaurants or shopping, press the scroll key, and select Explore. Select a category, and enter the search terms in the search field.


Save and send locations


To save a location to your device, press the scroll key, and select Save.

To view your saved locations, in the main view, select Options > Favourites.

To send a location to a compatible device, press the scroll key, and select Send.


Your search history


To check which locations you have recently searched for, select Options > History.

To view the selected location on the map, press the scroll key, and select Show on map.

To send the location to a compatible device, press the scroll key, and select Send.

To add the location to a route, press the scroll key, and select Add to route.


Landmarks


Select Icon > Applications > Landmarks.

With Landmarks, you can save the position information of specific locations in your device. You can sort the saved locations into different categories, such as business, and add other information to them, such as addresses. You can use your saved landmarks in compatible applications, such as GPS data.

GPS coordinates are expressed in the degrees and decimal degrees format using the international WGS-84 coordinate system.

Select Options and from the following:

    • New landmark — Create a new landmark. To make a positioning request for your current location, select Current position. To select the location from map, select Select from map. To enter the position information manually, select Enter manually.
    • Edit — Edit or add information to a saved landmark (for example, a street address).
    • Add to category — Add a landmark to a category in Landmarks. Select each category to which you want to add the landmark.
    • Send — Send one or several landmarks to a compatible device. Your received landmarks are placed in the Inbox folder in Messaging.

You can sort your landmarks into preset categories, and create new categories. To edit and create new landmark categories, open the categories tab, and select Options > Edit categories.


Synchronise your favourite locations with Maps


The Nokia website contains the internet services that Nokia provides. The Nokia Maps section contains services related to Maps.

To synchronise the locations, collections, and routes you have saved to your device with your Nokia account, select Options > Favourites > Synchronise with OVI.

To set the device to synchronise your saved locations, collections, and routes with your Nokia account automatically when you open and close the Maps application, select Options > Tools > Settings > Synchronisation > Synchronise with OVI > At start-up and shut-d..

Synchronising may involve the transmission of large amounts of data through your service provider’s network. Contact your service provider for information about data transmission charges.
