Listen to the radio

Your 5730 XpressMusic gives you an opportunity to listen to either FM radio or Internet radio.
Learn how to listen to the Internet radio and how to manage your radio options.


To listen to the FM radio, select Menu > Music > Radio.

When you open the application for the first time, you can choose to have the local stations tuned automatically. To set the desired frequency manually, select Options > Manual tuning.


Listen to saved radio stations

  1. In the radio view, select Options > Stations
  2. Select a station from the list, press the Scroll key and select Listen.
  3. Change the station by scrolling Up and Down with the Scroll key.
Return to the Home screen with the radio playing in the background by pressing the End key.


Listen to the Internet radio

The Nokia Internet Radio application lets you listen to available radio stations on the internet. You must have a wireless LAN (WLAN) or packet data access point defined in your device. Note that listening to the stations using a packet data connection involves data transmissions through your service provider’s network. The recommended connection method is WLAN.

  1. Select Menu > Music > Internet radio.
  2. Accept the terms and conditions.
  3. Select the connection method.
  4. Find your station by selecting from:
    • Station directory – browse stations by genre, language or country/region.
    • Search – search for a specific station by station name.
  5. Choose the station you want, and select Listen.


Radio options

You can manage your radio stations in different ways. In the radio view, select Options and choose from the following:

  • Station directory – View available stations based on location (network service).
  • Save station – Save the station you are currently tuned to in your station list.
  • Stations – Open the list of saved stations.
  • Manual tuning – Change the frequency manually.
  • Play in background – Return to the Home screen while listening to the FM radio in the background.
  • Settings – Adjust the radio settings.



Remove or rename a radio station

  1. In the radio view, select Options > Stations.
  2. Select the station and press scroll key.
  3. Select Edit to rename the station or Delete to delete the station.
