Burn a CD

With Ovi Player, you can burn music to blank recordable CDs. The selected songs are written in the Compact Disc Digital Audio (CDDA) format, which allows them to be played on any standard music CD player.

You can only burn songs from the PC music collection to a blank recordable CD. You cannot burn songs directly from your device music collection, from the Music store, or from another audio CD. If you want to burn songs from these locations, transfer the songs to the PC music collection first.

Create a burn list

  1. To burn songs from your music collection to a blank CD, you must first create a burn list. Drag and drop songs, albums, or playlists to the CD icon in the devices area, or right-click the items, and select Add to Burn List.
  2. To view the burn list, select the CD icon in the devices area.
  3. To move songs within the list, drag and drop them to the desired position.
  4. To remove a song from the burn list, right-click it, and select Remove from Burn List.

Burn a CD

  1. Insert a blank recordable CD into the CD drive of your PC.
  2. Select Burn CD.
  3. When the burn operation is complete, to eject the CD, select Eject. You can modify the burn settings to eject the CD automatically when the burn is complete.
  4. If the size of your burn list exceeds the capacity of the CD, you can continue to burn the songs in the list by inserting another blank recordable CD. The songs that have already been burned are removed from the burn list.

To cancel the burn process, select Cancel, if available. Depending on the phase of the burn process at cancellation, the resulting CD may be unusable.

Burn settings

To modify the burn settings, select Edit > Options…, and open the Burn tab.

You can modify the following:

  • Select whether to eject the CD when the burn is complete.
  • Select whether to allow duplicate songs in the burn list.
