Transcoding
Transcoding is the prcess of changing a video file from one format to another, and can take a lot of processing power. The original files are not changed when Nokia Multimedia Transfer transcodes them. Note that it may not be possible to transcode every video file. As a generally rule, if they are playable in QuickTime and not copy protected, they should transcode.
The best and default option is to Transcode videos not natively supported by the device. Then only videos that need to be transcoded so they play on the device will be converted
There is the option to use custom transcoding settings, however this is only recommended for the more advance user.
Progress indication
You can see the progress of the transfer, by clicking on the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in the menu bar
When transfer is complete a notification message will be briefly displayed.
