Using Nokia Photos

What is Nokia Photos?

Nokia Photos is a free PC application that you can use to manage all your photos and videos. Specially designed to work with Nseries devices, Nokia Photos can be used to transfer, edit, organize and share all the pictures and videos that you take with your Nseries device or digital camera. You can also subscribe to online photo feeds and order prints* of your favorite pictures. Nokia Photos can also load your Nseries device with hundreds of pictures and videos from your PC. Nokia Photos makes sure the videos are converted to the right format, so that you can play them in your Nseries device.

What are the system requirements of Nokia Photos?

Operating system: Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista Free hard disk space: 150MB RAM memory: 512 MB minimum (1GB recommended) A video/graphics acceleration card is strongly recommended Windows Media Player 10 or later version
Important! If you are a Windows XP user, you must first update your computer with the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 from here.
Note: This update is not necessary if you are using Windows Vista

When I try to install Nokia Photos I get an error message stating that Microsoft .NET 3 is not installed. How can I fix this?

What devices are compatible with Nokia Photos?

All Nseries devices, except N800 and N810.

I have a compatible phone but Nokia Photos does not recognize my phone. What can I do?

Some devices support several USB connection methods. If you connect your device to your PC using a USB cable make sure that you select the "PC Suite" mode. For some older devices, you must ensure that Lifeblog is installed in your device. Nokia Photos makes use of Lifeblog to synchronize your content with your device. Depending on your device model you can find Lifeblog in the Gallery or in a folder called Applications, Media or My Own.

If Lifeblog is not installed in your phone, please follow the instructions below to download and install it:
If your device is N70, N72 or N90, download Lifeblog from here.
If your device is N71, N80 or N91, download Lifeblog from here.
If your device model is not mentioned above, then you do not need to install Lifeblog. Your device already contains all the software required to work with Nokia Photos.

Is Nokia Photos available for the Mac?

No. Nokia Photos only works on Windows XP and Windows Vista. For Mac users, we recommend Nokia Multimedia Transfer. More info at www.nokia.com/mac

In what languages is Nokia Photos available?

Nokia Photos is currently available in 27 languages. Make sure you select your preferred language when downloading Nokia Photos.

Nokia Photos cannot play some of my videos. What can I do?

To improve video playing capabilities, we recommend that you update your computer with the following free components:
Windows Media Player
Apple QuickTime

How can I share my pictures and videos online with Nokia Photos?

You can see a list of supported services as well as detailed instructions and required settings by following this link.

Can I order prints of my pictures online through Nokia Photos?

Yes. Simply select the pictures you want to print, and click on the Order Prints button.

What is muvee? What is the muvee functionality inside of Nokia Photos

Muvee is an automatic video editing and production technology that has been integrated inside Nokia Photos. With the muvee technology in Nokia Photos you can easily create videos that look professionally produced without having to do any manual video editing.

I get an error when trying to synchronize content between my device and my PC. What can I do? Nokia Photos does not transfer all my new pictures and videos from my device to my PC. How can I fix this?

You can try the following workaround:

  1. Start the Lifeblog application in your device. Depending on your device model you can find Lifeblog in the Gallery or in a folder called Applications, Media or My Own.
  2. If Lifeblog asks you to import old items, select Yes.
  3. Select Options > Update timeline.
