Setting up e-mail


You can handle your e-mail straight from the E75. Learn how to set up different types of e-mail accounts with the e-mail wizard, and you’ll be able to receive both your business e-mail and personal e-mail on your device.

For business e-mail Nokia’s corporate mobile email solutions are Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler.



Nokia Messaging service

Nokia Messaging is Nokia's consumer messaging service. With access to personal e-mail you can get Yahoo! Mail, Gmail and other e-mail automatically delivered to your Nokia E75, with or without notifications. Depending on your country and service provider, you may be able to use the Nokia Messaging. If the Nokia Messaging service is available in your country, it will appear as an option within the email set-up wizard when you start setting up your e-mail.

Nokia Messaging service is not yet available in every country. Please check the availability from your service provider.

Setting up e-mail with e-mail wizard

Your device supports most of the existing Internet email accounts. You can use the e-mail wizard to set up your email if you are using one of the popular free email services or if your email supports POP or IMAP protocol.



Set up your e-mail
  1. From the home screen, select Set up e-mail.
  2. Select Start e-mail setup and to confirm your selection, select Start. Allow network connection.
  3. Enter your personal e-mail address, and select OK.
  4. Enter your password, and select OK.
  5. To activate your Nokia Messaging account and get your e-mail delivered automatically, select Accept, which also indicates that you accept the Service Terms and Privacy policy.
    Note! If you set up your email but do not want to activate Nokia Messaging, select Decline.
  6. When e-mail set-up is complete, click OK.
  7. After the set up is completed, you can adjust the settings. Select the Email key or Menu > Email > Settings and select your personal mailbox.
    • To get the right settings, contact your e-mail service provider for information.

      

Tips

Use the Email key in your device to get quick access to your e-mails.

    • To open your default mailbox, press the E-mail key briefly.
    • To create a new e-mail message, press the E-mail key for a few seconds.


Mail for Exchange

Mail for Exchange is used especially to bring your business e-mail to your device.

Before starting make sure that your company has Microsoft Exchange Server. You may also need to contact your company’s IT administrator to activate Mail for Exchange for your account, and to give you other additional information needed to install Mail for Exchange.


Install Mail for Exchange

  1. From the home screen Select Set up e-mail.
  2. Select Start e-mail setup, and to confirm your selection, select Start. Allow network connection.
  3. Enter your corporate e-mail address, and select OK.
  4. Enter your password and select OK.
  5. Select Corporate from the e-mail type list, and Mail for Exchange.
  6. Enter Domain name, User name, Password and server name, and select next.
  7. Select do you want to sync only e-mail or e-mail and data, and select next.
    • Data includes your calendar, contacts and to-do list. You can define the synchronisation options for data in Menu > E-mail > Settings > Personal Inform. Man... > Applications.

     

   




Adjust e-mail settings

You can adjust different settings for your e-mail. If you have set up more than one mailbox, you can choose which one is your default mailbox.


Adjust e-mail settings:
  1. Select Menu > E-mail.
  2. Select Settings > Global settings. You can adjust from the following:
    • Message list layout – Select whether the e-mail messages in the Inbox display one or two lines of text.
    • Body text preview – Select whether to preview messages when scrolling through the list of e-mail messages in the Inbox.
    • Title dividers – Select On to be able to expand and collapse the list of e-mail messages.
    • Download notifications – Select whether to have the device to display notification when an e-mail attachment has been downloaded.
    • Home screen – Define how many lines of e-mail are shown in the home screen information area.

Change your default mailbox:
  1. Select Menu > Messaging.
  2. Select Options > Settings > E-mail.
  3. Select Default mailbox, and choose the default mailbox from the list.
Change the default mailbox of the E-mail key:
  1. Select Menu > Ctrl. panel > Settings.
  2. Select General > E-mail key settings > Default setting.
  3. From the list of your installed mailboxes, select the desired one.
