Free memory

To see how much memory is currently in use, how much free memory remains and how much memory different data types consume, select Menu > Options > Memory details > Phone memory or Memory card.

Home screen

To access the home screen, press the home key briefly. The home screen consists of:

  • application shortcuts,
  • information area, and
  • notifications.
Manage contact groups

Create a contact group so that you can send text or e-mail messages to several recipients at the same time. Select each contact you want to add to the contact group, press # to mark it, select Options > Group > Add to group > Create new group > Group name, and enter a name for the group.

Personalize the home screen

Select Menu > Tools > Modes. To change the name of the current home screen, select Mode name. To select which applications and notifications you want to see on the home screen, select Home screen plug-ins.

Scroll key lights

When you receive a message or miss a call, the scroll key starts blinking to indicate the event. When the display light turns off, the scroll key starts blinking slowly. To turn off slow blinking, select Menu > Tools > Profiles and a profile. Select Personalize > Breathing light.

Set remote lock option

If your phone is stolen or gets lost, you can lock it (and the memory card) remotely by sending a lock code via SMS. To enable remote locking and to define the text for the message, select Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Security > Phone and SIM card > Allow remote lock > Yes. Enter the remote lock message and confirm the message. The message must be at least 5 characters long.

Set up your e-mail

With the e-mail wizard, you can set up different types of e-mail accounts:

  • business e-mail (Microsoft Outlook or Exchange)
  • internet e-mail (such as Gmail)
  • e-mail (for both business and personal use)
  1. To start the wizard, go to the home screen, scroll to the e-mail wizard, and press the scroll key.
  2. Enter your e-mail address and password.
Update software

Nokia may produce software updates that may offer new features, enhanced functions, or improved performance.To get more information and to download the Nokia Software Updater application, visit www.nokia.com/softwareupdate or your local Nokia website. To check the software version in your device, enter *#0000# in the home screen.
