Mobile "malware" is a general term used for malicious mobile software that aims to harm a mobile phone or cause nuisance to the user by causing an increased telephone bill, for example.
Nokia aims to develop security controls and preventive measures against malware in order to minimize the security risks related to our devices. We think security is an element that should be embedded in the product and service architecture, and affect throughout the product lifecycle.
To date, the threat is small, and unlikely to mirror the risk profile of the fixed line internet. Consumers don't need to worry if they exercise proper caution when using the device. Awareness against the loss of device and installation of unknown software is needed.
