Get familiar
The main window of Nokia PC suite is your starting place. In the window you can see the applications. You can move your mouse over the icons and view the descriptions of each application below. Note that Install applications and Update phone software are not available with all device models.
You can choose from:
- Backup - Make a backup from phone to PC. Move data between different phone models.
- Synchronise – Synchronise personal data between a phone and a PC.
- Connect to the Internet – Use your phone as a modem to connect your PC to the Internet.
- Contacts – Create, edit, and view the contacts stored on your phone. Share business cards by multimedia messages or email.
- Messages – Send text messages and multimedia messages from your PC. View and organise messages into folders.
- Calendar - Edit and manage calendar entries on your phone.
- File manager – Browse phone and PC contents and transfer files between phone and PC.
- Transfer music – Rip CDs, create and organise music tracks on a PC and transfer them to your phone. Convert music tracks into a format that can be played on your phone.
- Store images – Store images and video clips from your phone on a PC.
- Transfer videos – Transfer video files between your PC and phone.
- Install applications – Install games and other programs from the PC on your phone.
- Update phone software – Download Nokia Software Updater from the Internet, and update your phone software for additional functionality and improved performance.
- Download maps - Download maps from the Internet and preload them onto your phone for the Nokia Maps application.
If you have installed Nokia PC Suite add-on applications on your PC, their icons appear beneath the main tray area. You can download add-ons from the Nokia PC Suite website.
The easy way of transferring files such as music, videos, images, and applications to the device, is to drag them on top of the device image displayed in the top left corner. Note that in some cases your files may need to be converted.
You can view the progress of the transfer in the indicator below the device image.
