Want to send and receive text messages from your computer? With Nokia Ovi Suite you can.

Send text messages
Before you start, make sure your device is connected to the computer through your USB cable or Bluetooth. See Connect your device to your computer for information on how to connect your device.

In Nokia Ovi Suite’s Messaging view, click Create message in the central panel. Type the name or phone number you want to send the message to. To send a message to several people, select Add recipient after each name or number.

When you have added all the names or numbers you want, select Close.

Type your message into the box and click Send. The message will be delivered as if you’d sent it from your device, and will appear in your Sent items folder on your device and in Nokia Ovi Suite.

Receiving text messages
When you synchronise messages between your device and your computer, new messages appear in Nokia Ovi Suite. The Messaging area of the Home view will show you how many unread messages you have:

You can reply to new messages in the conversation pane to carry on the discussion – just like an instant messaging service using your device and Nokia Ovi Suite.
