When you insert an audio CD into the CD drive of your PC, the tracks on the CD that do not exist in your PC music collection are selected to be ripped by default. You can edit the rip list by adding or removing tracks.
You can rip your CDs by using a rip list or by dragging and dropping individual tracks. To modify the rip settings, select Menu > Edit > Options > Rip tab.
There are two ways to rip an audio CD:
Immediate rip
- Insert the audio CD into the CD drive of your PC.
- Select one or more tracks on the audio CD or in the queue, and drag and drop them to the PC music collection icon in the My Devices area. To rip the entire CD, drag and drop the audio CD icon onto the PC music collection icon.
Standard rip
- Insert the audio CD into the CD drive of your PC.
- Select the tracks you want to rip to your music collection. Nokia Music leaves tracks that already exist in your collection unselected. If you want to rip an existing track to the collection, Nokia Music asks whether you want to create a new copy of the track or to overwrite the existing one.
- Select Rip Options to set the audio format and quality (bit rate) of the ripped tracks.
- To select a destination for the rip operation, select Rip to: > My PC or the name of your mobile device.
- Click Rip CD.
To cancel the rip process at any time, click Cancel, or eject the CD from the CD drive.
You can modify the rip list during a rip by selecting or deselecting tracks or by changing the rip options. If you change the rip options during a rip, the changes you save apply starting from the next track on the rip list.
