Why am I prompted to approve a license delivery when I play a track downloaded from Nokia music on my computer for the first time?

The first time you play a licensed track on your computer you are prompted to install a security upgrade. Select Yes in your Nokia Music PC application in order to set up your PC with the necessary Digital Rights Management (DRM) files to play licensed media.

After the upgrade, you may need to restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

Why did I receive a message saying I do not have any licenses left when trying to play a track downloaded from Nokia Music Store?

You get at least four licenses with every download. Each license contains a number of burn and transfer rights. The licenses are issued every time you need to acquire a new license on either a new PC or a mobile device.

When you have used up your licenses you will be prompted to purchase additional licenses for that track.

Why did I receive an error message stating that there was a problem with my DRM when trying to play a track downloaded from Nokia Music Store?

The problem can be corrected by resetting your Digital Rights Management (DRM) files.

Before you proceed with the following, please note that you will lose one license count when resetting your DRM folder. Proceed with this only if you cannot play any of your Nokia Music tracks, and if you get an error message stating that there is a DRM related problem.

If your computer has Microsoft Windows Vista:

To reset the DRM files on your PC, first close Nokia Music if it is running, and do the following:

   1. Select Start > Computer > Organize > Folders and search options.

   2. Select View > Show hidden files and folders.

   3. Unselect Hide protected operating system files/folders and Hide extensions for known file types.

   4. Locate your DRM folder. The folder is located at C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows/DRM. If you cannot find the DRM folder, go through the steps above carefully, and ensure that the correct options are set.

  5. Rename the DRM folder "DRMBACKUP".

If you now attempt to play the DRM protected tracks from Nokia Music Store, your system will perform a security upgrade, which resets all the necessary DRM files. Each track requests a new license when you first play it.

After going through these five steps you should be able to play your tracks.
