The Nokia 6090 phone is available in Europe, Africa, and Asia Pacific. It can be purchased from the Nokia dealer nearest you or at any shop selling Nokia phones.
Installation
Your Nokia 6090 phone will fit conveniently in your vehicle. Its five meter long system cable makes it possible to locate the transceiver anywhere in the passenger compartment, or even in the boot. Professional installation is recommended. You can buy your Nokia 6090 phone at a dealer of your choice and have it installed elsewhere. Many Nokia phone dealers are qualified to install the Nokia 6090 phone or can recommend a professional installer.
Other Equipment Needed
An external antenna is needed to operate the Nokia 6090 phone. An antenna is not included in the Nokia 6090 phone sales package because there are many antenna types and brands available on the market. Your dealer can advise you about which of the following types of antenna will suit your needs best:
Roof antenna; offers the best reception and emission quality. Roof antennas can be screwed or glued into place, or can be held in place magnetically.
Windshield antenna; offers good reception quality, and is faster and simpler to install than a roof antenna. Plus, it doesn't require drilling holes in the vehicle.
Bumper antenna; not visible from the outside of the car and doesn't require drilling holes in the vehicle. However, a bumper antenna does not offer the best emission/reception performance.
Some antennae cannot be connected directly to the phone. In such cases, an adapter called a " Mini UHF adapter" is required. Sub-holders enable the best in-car integration since they are car-model specific and therefore enable the best integration of the phone with the car without making any holes in the dashboard. Your installation professional may have them, or they can be purchased from stores selling electronic parts or car accessories.
The Nokia 6090 phone can be connected to an external device using a standard serial cable. Such a cable is also called a "9-pin prolongation cable" and is widely available in various lengths at computer stores. Note that if you choose to have the transceiver installed at the back of the vehicle it is best to place it parallel to the system cable at the time of installation. This will allow for easier connectivity to other devices, both present and future.
