When the text message memory is full, the phone cannot receive or send any new messages. However, you can set the phone to automatically replace old text messages in the Inbox and Sent items folders with the new ones.

To do so, first press Menu and then select Messages, Message settings, Text messages and Overwriting in inbox or Overwriting in sent items.

Select Allowed to set the phone to replace the old text messages with new ones in the Inbox or the Sent items folder, respectively.
