1. What type of Bluetooth data applications can I use with the Nokia 8910i?


The Nokia 8910i is optimized for people who desire freedom and flexibility in data communication. The Nokia 8910i lets you browse the Internet, download and send e-mail, send faxes and transfer files using Bluetooth with compatible devices.

2. How is the Bluetooth connection established between my Nokia 8910i and a compatible laptop?

When the connection is created for the first time, the user enters a Bluetooth passcode in order to create the connection. The next time, the connection is automatic if the devices have been selected as "trusted devices."

The Nokia 8910i's calendar, contacts/phone book and to-do lists can be synchronized with compatible PC office applications via the Nokia PC Suite using infrared or Bluetooth.

4. How is Bluetooth technology different from infrared?

A Bluetooth chipset enables wireless data connectivity between various electronic devices within a radius of about 10 meters, outside the line of sight, unlike infrared, which requires a shorter distance and immediate line of sight.

There is a huge base of infrared compatible products, and both technologies continue to co-exist.

8. What is the difference between the Bluetooth Software Suite and Nokia PC Suite?

The Bluetooth Software Suite installs Bluetooth functionality on a compatible PC and enables Bluetooth connectivity between the PC and Bluetooth compatible device (such as the Nokia 8910i). The Nokia PC Suite 5.02 offers added value features for business and leisure (e.g. synchronization and ringing tone composing) to be used with a compatible PC.
