Troubleshooting

You can either install the Nokia 8910i as a modem during PC Suite installation or separately after installing PC Suite.

The modem driver for the Nokia 8910i is installed automatically during PC Suite installation.

During installation, you must select whether you want to install the modem as an infrared connection, a Bluetooth connection or both.

The Nokia Modem Options are installed automatically during PC Suite installation unless you unselect the Nokia Modem Options when you select which features you want to install with the PC Suite.

If you want to install the Nokia Modem Options after you have installed the PC Suite, double click the file "8910i_PC Suite502.exe" and click Modify on the Welcome screen. On the Select Features screen, make sure that the Nokia Modem Options box is checked. You can also modify the installation by first going to Control panel > Add/remove programs > Nokia PC Suite 5.02 and then clicking the Add/remove button.

Warning: Do not uncheck the boxes that are for the applications you have already installed. If you uncheck the boxes while modifying the installation, all applications with an unchecked box will be uninstalled.

Note: If you are using Windows XP, you must update the driver manually. To do this, follow the instructions below for manually installing infrared Modem inf files.
