Streaming Media Clips

The Nokia 7600 phone has a streaming video player, which you can use to view streaming video clips from different services (network service). Streaming video means that you can start playing a video clip even before it is entirely downloaded into your phone.

You use the Media player menu to view images and play video clips and streaming content (audio and video) downloaded from a streaming server.

To view a streaming media clip: Press Menu in standby mode and select Media player.

  • Select Open Gallery to open the files saved in the Gallery menu.
  • Select Bookmarks to view the browser bookmarks that can be used to access content servers. The same bookmarks are available in the Services menu.
If the bookmark associated with a streaming service does not work with the current streaming settings, activate another set of settings in Active streaming settings of this menu and try again.
You can press Options for example to edit or delete a bookmark or to send it to a compatible device as a bookmark or as a text message (network service).
  • Select Go to address to key in the address of the service that you want to access. Key in the address (press for special characters), and press OK.
  • Select Media downloads to download for example graphics and ringing tones to your phone (network service). To download video clips, see Downloading Content and Applications.
  • Select Connection sett. to define the settings that are needed to access a streaming content server. The appropriate settings can be received from the provider of the streaming service.
Select Active streaming settings, scroll to the set of connection settings where you want to save the streaming settings, and press Activate. Next, select Edit active streaming sett. and define the settings. For more information, see Keying in the service settings manually.
