Accessing and Using Browser Services

To access and use the browser service of your Nokia 7600 phone:

  1. Save the settings that are needed to access the service that you want to use - see Setting Up Your Phone for a Browser Service.

  2. Make a connection to the browser service.

  3. Start browsing the pages of the service using the phone keys:
    • Use to browse through the page.
    • To select a highlighted item, for example a link shown as underlined text, press Select or . TIP: The function of the middle selection key depends on the item you have selected on the page.
    • To key in letters and numbers, use the keys to . To insert a special character, press , scroll to the desired character and press Use or .
    • Some of the following options may be available while browsing. Press Options and select the desired option. The service provider may also offer other options.
      Select Home to return to the homepage of the service provider.
      Select Shortcuts to open a new list of options that can be, for example, specific to the page.
      Select Add bookmark to save the current page as a bookmark.
      Select Download links to view a list of bookmarks for downloading content.
      Select Other options to view a list of other available options. These include, for example, Use detail, Go to address, Clear the cache, and wallet-related functions.
      Select Reload to reload and update the current page.

  4. When you want to finish browsing, end the connection to the service:
    • Press Options and select Quit.
    • When Quit browsing? is shown, press Yes. OR: Press twice. The phone ends the connection to the service.

NOTE:
The functions of the phone keys may vary in different services.

If you receive or make a call during a GPRS connection, will be shown to indicate that the GPRS connection is suspended (in GSM networks only).

The information or services you access are stored in the cache of your phone. A cache is a buffer memory, which is used to store data temporarily. If you have tried to access or have accessed confidential information requiring passwords (for example, your bank account), empty the cache of your phone after each use.

To empty the cache memory: Press Menu in standby mode, and select Services and Clear the cache. OR: Press Options while browsing, and select Other options and Clear the cache.
