Using the GPRS menu, you can define when your Nokia 7600 phone connects to the GPRS network (network service). You can also define the GPRS settings for using the phone as a modem with a PC (network service).
When your Nokia 7600 phone is connected to a compatible PC via an infrared, Bluetooth or cable connection, you can use it as a modem for GPRS connections (network service).
To define the settings for GPRS connections from the PC:
Press Menu in standby mode, and select Connectivity, GPRS and GPRS modem settings.
Select Active access point or Edit active access point.
You select Active access point to activate an access point. Scroll to the access point you want to use and press Activate. The access point is a server that your phone contacts for an Internet connection.
You select Edit active access point to change the access point settings. Select
Alias for access point to create a nickname for the active access point.
GPRS access point to define the access point name that is needed for GPRS connections. Contact your network operator or service provider for the access point name.
When the GPRS connection is active, is shown on the display.
If the GPRS connection is suspended, for example because you make or receive a call during the connection, is shown on the display (in GSM networks only).
If the access point name is set both in the phone and in the Nokia Modem Options software on the PC, the name defined in the Nokia Modem Options will be used.
