1. What data options does the Nokia 7250 have and what are the data speeds?

The Nokia 7250 supports CSD (Circuit Switched Data), HSCSD (High-Speed Circuit Switched Data) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service). CSD (GSM data) works in conventional GSM networks, and data transmission speeds range from 9.6 kbps to 14.4 kbps.

HSCSD speeds are up to 43.2 kbit/sec (3+1/ 2+2). The supported connection methods are analog, ISDN v110 and ISDN v120. The difference compared to GPRS is that the circuit connection is left open and the throughput level is then stable in the GSM network.

The peak bit rate of the Nokia 7250 GPRS phone is 40.2 kbps with three time slots, which is more than enough for most of the current and near future WAP services. There are four different Coding Schemes, and Nokia terminals support CS1, CS2, CS3 and CS4. Transmission speed is also affected by the available network resources. The Nokia 7250 supports multislot class 6, which enables 3+1 and 2+2 (receiving/sending) connection and is optimal for browsing and downloading.

3. Why does the product name start with a seven when all the previous Nokia Fashion products have started with eight (8310, 8210, 8250)?

Product names give some guidance of the product positioning. For Fashion phones, we have evaluated the 7000 series as being more adequate. It doesn't have any reference to the earlier Nokia 7110 product.

6. What does ''World Phone,'' triple band EGSM 900/GSM 1800/1900 actually mean?

The Nokia 7250 can operate in these three different GSM networks, which essentially means that it can be used on all five continents where these networks are supported - EGSM 900 and GSM 1800 are supported in Europe & Africa, APAC and Brazil, and GSM 1900 is supported in the Americas.

7. I hear people talk about SAR figures. What does SAR mean?

SAR stands for Specific Absorption Rate, which is a measure of the amount of radio wave energy absorbed by the body when using a mobile phone. Scientifically based international recommendations and standards are in force governing the maximum levels of SAR. All Nokia products are designed to comply with relevant recommendations and standards. More information can be found in the User's Guide included in the Nokia 7250 sales package and from www.nokia.com.
