Multimedia messaging in the Nokia 7200 supports the following formats:

Picture:
  • BMP (Bitmap Picture)
  • GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)
  • JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
  • PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
  • WBMP (Wireless Bitmap Picture)
Sound:
Scalable Polyphonic MIDI (SP-MIDI).
AMR audio and monophonic ringing tones. AMR is a narrowband sound encoding method especially designed for speech.

Video clips:
The recorded video clips are in H.263 format with SubQCIF image size and AMR audio. H.263 is a popular video codec used for video conferencing.

The phone can play video clips in MPEG-4 format. MPEG-4 is the standard for video and audio.

The phone does not necessarily support all variations of the file format mentioned here. If a received message contains any unsupported elements, they may be replaced with the file name and the text Object format not supported.
