 Installing applications

You can install various types of Java applications (for example games, travel dictionaries, personal data management applications) to your Nokia 6800. To do this:

  1. Download the Java application file types to your PC. The file types that you need to install an application to your Nokia 6800 phone are .jad and .jar files. If you download the applications from the internet, make sure that you get both .jad and .jar files and save them in the same folder on your PC.
  2. Connect your phone to the PC.
  3. Open Nokia Application Installer.
  4. Click Install... on the tool bar or select it from the File menu.
  5. If there is more than one phone connected to the PC, a dialog will open asking you to select the phone to install the application in.
  6. An installation dialog box opens. Browse to the directory where you have saved the .jad and .jar files.
  7. Select the .jad file of the application you want to install and click Install. Nokia Application Installer finds the .jar file automatically if the two have been saved in the same folder.
  8. A progress bar is shown while the installation process is ongoing.

If you want to remove applications from the phone, use the Erase functionality in the phone.
