Modem Options

If the connection is unsuccessful, please ensure that connection manager for the PC Suite is not active (there are no phones listed under any of the connection methods). If there is a phone listed under one of the methods, click the icon for that connection method. After you have done that, the text No phone connected should be displayed. (See figure 1.)

If GPRS data call fails.

Before making a GPRS dial-up connection, please make sure that the GPRS connection setting for the active service is not set to 'Always online.' To do this, open the Services menu on your phone, select Settings, select Edit active service settings, and then browse to GPRS connection. If 'Always online' is selected, change the setting to 'When needed.'

I installed the Nokia 6800 as a modem, but the result was that it installed multiple Nokia 6800 modems.

It is recommended that you do not select the "Enable software install for Plug and Play devices in range" option from Infrared Monitor as it interferes with the installation of the Nokia PC Suite for the Nokia 6800.
