Troubleshooting

After installing your Nokia 6610 as a modem, you can use it as a modem by going to

Dial-up networking in your PC. To do this:
  1. First connect your Nokia 6610 to your PC using the connection (USB cable or infrared) that you selected during the installation.

  2. Open up Dial-up networking. For help on this, please see the help files of your operating system.

  3. Select one of your dial-up connections, right click it with your mouse and select Properties.

  4. You can now select your Nokia 6610 from the drop-down list

  5. Below the drop-down list, you'll find the Configure button for your modem (your Nokia 6610).

  6. After you have configured the modem, close the Properties dialog box for your dial-up connection and then double click the connection to open it.

  7. To make a connection, mae sure that your user name and password are correct and then click OK.

If the connection is unsuccessful, please ensure that connection manager for the PC Suite is not active (there are no phones listed under any of the connection methods). If there is a phone listed under one of the methods, click the icon for that connection method. Once you have done that, the text No phone connected should be displayed.
