   3GPP Video Streaming

The Nokia 6230 phone can play the Third Generation Partnership Program (3GPP) compliant video streams. Also, the video clips you record with the Nokia 6230 phone are saved in a 3GPP-compliant format.

3GPP is the new standard for multimedia content delivery over high-speed wireless networks. 3GPP is especially designed for mobile device use. It gives good picture and sound quality in low data rates. 3GPP is originally based on the MPEG-4 standard.

3GPP files and streams can contain different kinds of media, such as audio, video and text. The 3GPP standard supports many media formats, as long as they are mentioned in the 3GPP specification. Your phone can play 3GPP video streams that use the H.263 codec for video and AMR codec for audio.

H.263 is a popular video codec used for video conferencing. AMR is a narrowband sound encoding method especially designed for speech. MPEG-4 is the standard for video and audio delivery over the Internet.
