Imaging for various purposes
With the Nokia 5140 phone’s camera you can record video clips, take pictures and series of pictures. You can also take portrait photos that you can, for example, attach as thumbnail pictures in Contacts. Explore all the possibilities of the camera.

Help texts
Get information about the menu functions by activating help texts: press Menu and select Settings, Phone settings and Help text activation. Now, when you scroll through the menus a short description of the currently selected function appears on the display after few seconds.
Auto-updating the time
You can set the phone to automatically update the time and date according to the current time zone: press Menu and select Settings, Time and date settings and Auto-update of date & time.
Wake up with your favorite tune or radio channel
You can replace the default alarm of the alarm clock with a sound of your choice. To set the alarm tone, press Menu and select Organiser, Alarm clock and Alarm tone. Select:
- Ringing tone or Open gallery and select a tune.
- Radio. Note that the headset must be connected to the phone.
Convert currency
The calculator is very handy for currency conversions, too. Open the calculator by pressing Menu, and then select Applications, Extras and Calculator.
- To save the exchange rate, press Options and select Exchange rate.
- To perform the currency conversion, key in the amount to be converted, select the option In domestic or In foreign.
Note that you can create a shortcut to the calculator to access it quicker.
Customize your phone with profiles
You may want to mute your phone’s alarm tones when you are participating in a meeting and use the vibrating alert instead. Your phone has various setting groups, or profiles, that allow you to customize the phone tones for different events and environments.
To modify the profiles, press Menu and select Settings and Profiles, and select the desired profile:
- To personalize a profile, select Personalise.
- To activate a profile, select Activate.
- Also, you can set the profile to be active for a certain time up to 24 hours, by selecting Timed.
