Infrared

Your colleague wants the photo you just took as a wallpaper on his phone. Or maybe you need to transfer the training data from the Polar® Heart Rate Monitor to the Fitness Coach on your Nokia 5140 phone.

You can send data over an infrared connection. The device with which you want to establish a connection must be IrDA compliant.

Sending via IR
  • Ensure that the IR ports of the sending and receiving devices are pointing at each other and that there are no obstructions between the devices.
  • The preferable distance between the two devices in an infrared connection is 1 meter at most.
  • indicator is blinking when the connection is being established. When the connection is activated, the indicator is shown continuously.
To receive data via IR
  • Press Menu and select Settings, Connectivity and Infrared.
  • If data transfer is not started within 2 minutes after the activation of the IR port, the connection is cancelled and has to be restarted.
Beware!
Do not point the IR (infrared) beam at anyone's eyes or allow it to interfere with other IR devices. This device is a Class 1 Laser product.
