Chat
Chat

With Chat service you can send short, simple text messages to other online users.

Before you can start chatting, you may need to:
  • Contact your network operator or service provider to receive your unique ID and password for the chat.
  • Set the required settings for the chat service. See Chat and My Presence settings.
The basic steps for chatting:
  1. Connect to the chat service
  2. Start or accept an invitation to a chat conversation
  3. Write and receive chat messages
  4. Disconnect from the chat
To enter the chat service, press Menu and select Messages and Chat.

Connect to the chat service
In order to use the chat service, you first need to connect to it.

Start a chat conversation
You can start a new chat conversation or join a currently active chat session.

Disconnect from the chat service
To disconnect from the chat service, select Logout.

Contacts for the chat
You can add contacts from the phone’s contacts memory to the chat contacts list.

Groups
You can create your own private groups that exist only during a chat session.

Also, you can join the public groups where provided by the service provider.

Chat is a network service
To check the availability and charging and to subscribe to the chat service, contact your network operator or service provider.

Accepting or rejecting a chat invitation
In standby mode, when you have connected to the chat service and you receive a new chat invitation, New invitation received is displayed. You can read the invitation and then accept or reject it.

Reading a received chat message
When you receive a new chat message that is not a message associated with an active chat conversation, New instant message is displayed. Press Read to read it, or if more than one message is received, scroll to a message and press Open.
