If you have one of the Nokia phones in the list, it is very easy to transfer the data to your new Nokia 5100. To do this:
- Open the Content Copier application.
- Click Next on the welcome note.
- Select the action you want to perform (Copy data from phone to a PC) and click Next.
- Connect your other Nokia phone to your PC. After your phone is connected, click Next.
- Content Copier now copies the data from your other phone to your PC. After it has finished, click Next
- Select Save data and browse for the location where you want to save the .ncc (Nokia Content Copier) files on your PC. Click Next.
- Click New Action and select Copy data from a PC to a phone. Click Next.
- Connect your Nokia 5100 to your PC via infrared or cable. When the Nokia Content Copier has registered the connection with your Nokia 5100, click Next.
- You now need to select which data you want to copy to your Nokia 5100. Select the location where you saved the .ncc files by using the Select Source Folder button. Also, select the data that you want to transfer to your Nokia 5100 by checking the boxes. You can see the information about each data type by selecting it and clicking the Details button. When you are ready, click Next.
- The Nokia Content Copier will now transfer the data to your Nokia 5100.
Making a backup of your phone
It is recommended that you regularly make a backup of your Nokia 5100 on your PC. This way, if you lose your phone or it becomes damaged, you have a copy of your phone book, calendar, and phone setting information, which you can easily restore to your phone. To make a backup of your phone, follow the steps above. To restore the backup to your phone, follow the steps above.
