Wearability and Enhanced Durability How is the Nokia 5100 wearable? How has durability been improved? Is the the Nokia 5100 phone waterproof? What about wet and damp conditions? How is the Nokia 5100 wearable? The wearability is enhanced with strap holes in the phone and a new multipurpose carrying enhancement (Enhancement for E&A only). The Nokia 5100 has convenient usability through its rubbery surface for a good and reliable grip, a high-resolution 128 x 128 color display, well proportioned keys, and a versatile 4-way scroll for fast and easy navigation. How has durability been improved? The top and bottom shells provide improved protection against splashes and dust. Also the inner module has resistance to splashes and dust when the shells and key mat are mounted. Membranes and gaskets provide protection for inner parts. The phone also provides improved durability against accidental bumps. The bottom flap gives the connectors extra protection against bumps and dirt. Is the Nokia 5100 phone waterproof? No. It is protected against splashes, but you should never immerse any mobile phone in water. What about wet and damp conditions? You can use your phone in damp environments and outdoors, and even in the rain, but you should never immerse the phone in water. Always be sure that the phone is completely dry when you open the battery cover because the SIM card, battery and inner parts are not protected against water. If water gets inside the phone shells, let the inner module and shells dry out or wipe them dry with a lint-free cloth. Note: Keep in mind that mobile enhancements do not meet the same durability or water resistance specifications as the phone itself. Enhancements with electrical functions should not be used with a damp phone.
