Contact your network operator
or service provider to obtain the settings required to send
and receive e-mail. You may be able to receive the settings
Over The Air (OTA).
To make the e-mail settings on your phone:
Press Menu > Messages > Message settings > E-mail messages.
Select:
Configuration, scroll to the set you wish to activate,
and then press Select.
- Account to see the accounts
provided by your service provider. If more than one account
is displayed, choose the one you wish to use.
- My name. Key in your name
or nickname.
- Include signature. You can
define a signature that will be automatically added to the
end of your e-mail when you write a message.
- Reply-to address. Key in the
e-mail address to which you want replies to be sent.
- SMTP password. Key in the
password you want to use for outgoing mail.
- Display terminal window. Select
Yes to carry out manual user authentication when
using intranet connections.
- Incoming server type. Select
either POP3 or IMAP4 depending on the type
of e-mail system you are using. If both types are supported,
select IMAP4.
- Incoming mail settings If
you have selected POP3 as the incoming server type,
the following options will be shown:
- Retrieve e-mails. Key in the
maximum number of e-mails that you want to retrieve at one
time.
- POP3 password. Key in the
password.
- Display terminal window. Select
Yes to carry out manual user authentication when
using intranet connections.
If you have selected IMAP4 as the server type, the
following options will be shown:
- Retrieve e-mails. Key in the
maximum number of e-mails that you want to retrieve at one
time.
- Retrieval method. Select Latest
if you want to retrieve all new received e-mails, or select
Latest unread if you
want to retrieve only the e-mails that you have not yet
read.
- IMAP4 password. Key in the
password.
- Display terminal window. Select
Yes to do manual user authentication for intranet
connections.
