Multimedia Messaging

A multimedia message, MMS is a new kind of message that can contain text, picture and sound. Your Nokia 3100 supports multimedia messages of size up to 45 kB.

Multimedia messaging supports the following formats:

  • Picture: JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP.
  • Sound: Scalable Polyphonic MIDI (SP-MIDI) and monophonic ringing tones.

You are not able to receive any multimedia messages if you have a call in progress, a game or a Java application running, or an active service connection. Because delivery of multimedia message can fail for a variety of reasons, do not rely solely upon them for essential communications.
